Our students are eager and curious like every teen. But living in a refugee camp severely limits their exposure to diverse perspectives, mentorship opportunities, and access to professionals working in industry the youth are interests in. It’s one thing to know that you want to be a video game designer. It’s another to talk with someone who is a video game designer and learn of the ins and outs. Political Satirist, Foreign Policy Expert
Hagar Hajjar Chemali is a political satirist, foreign policy expert, and host, writer, and producer of a world news show on YouTube called Oh My World! She worked in the U.S. government for 12 years in a range of senior national security and public affairs positions. She is a political commentator and writer on national security issues, and is featured regularly on MSNBC, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg, and Cheddar. She is also CEO and Founder of Greenwich Media Strategies, and a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Economic Sanctions Initiative.

Her passion for UX is not limited to customers but also includes internal stakeholders and partners. She believe that teams who take joy in their work and design products with joy, inspire joy in their customers and ultimately bring joy to the world. I am thrilled to be on the founding team of a cutting-edge biotech company, OmniScope.ai, which sits at the intersection of genomics and AI and is transforming how we detect, diagnose, and treat disease.

Kaye Lee Johnston has 20 years of experience as a professional graphic designer with a client roster from coast to coast. Her work utilizes a variety of media and covers the ground from traditional marketing concepts, such as brochures, posters, advertisements, and identity systems, to cutting-edge web design and three-dimensional packaging. Kaye’s designs have been seen extensively in the education, non-profit, and commercial sectors, with clients including the Indiana University, University of Michigan, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, Indiana University, GLSEN, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

Juan Martinez

Juan is an executive with 25 years of experience, including MassVOTE, GLSEN, Sesame Workshop, and Teach for America. With the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Juan managed a grantmaking portfolio of $20 million focused on education policy and message research. He served as Press Secretary to former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and currently is the Chief Communications Officer at Legal Defense Fund.
