WHO WE ARE

Hello Future is a nonprofit organization that partners with youth-serving organizations to deliver developmentally grounded education to adolescents and young adults. We work at the intersection of Positive Youth Development and the future of work — building the foundations of confidence, judgment, and agency that make skills, tools, and opportunities actually stick.

We are a capacity builder, not a direct implementer. Our core offering is instructor training and curriculum support — equipping teachers and program staff with the pedagogy, tools, and ongoing coaching to deliver project-based, student-centric education that holds. We work with organizations that are already present in communities, so that what we build together outlasts our involvement.

HOW WE STARTED

In 2016, our founder Charlie Grosso spent a year in Turkey and Iraq in conversation with Syrian refugee families — listening before building anything. What she heard was consistent: teenagers were the most underserved population in the humanitarian system, and they were experiencing the internet as passive observers rather than active participants. Nobody was asking what they were capable of becoming.

That question — what do young people need to become capable, contributing adults — became the foundation of Hello Future. The first programs launched in Arbat Refugee Camp in Iraqi Kurdistan in 2017. Nearly a decade of direct implementation followed, producing 350 hours of curriculum, the pedagogy, the measurement framework, and the proof of concept that now drives the partnership model.

The work began with refugees. It was always about something larger.
