This summer, Hello Future hosted the ultimate global summer camp for teens.

30 teens from across the world came together and meet online for the first time. Refugee teens from Syrian and Afghanistan, youth from Somaliland, teens from the U.S and Canada.

This collaborative film is a result of their ideas, this global virtual meeting and sharing of their stories.

Charlie Grosso has been selected to speak at SXSW EDU, the annual technology, and education conference. The presentation will be centered around how digital literacy’s transformative power for refugee teens and under-serviced youth.

At Hello Future, we believe young people already have the solutions. In collaboration with DSIL Global, Hello Future kicked off a week-long design thinking Hack-a-Thon for teens around the world to create solutions to the problems they face due the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The kids noted that they had all of these people coming in from around the world to tell their stories and that they could tell their stories better than anybody else," says 32-year-old Justine McGowan, who works as CARE's senior innovation adviser and lives in California. "This enables young people to tell their stories directly, both to each other and to the rest of the world."
